College Supervisor

Hello, I am Simon; a tutor and partner at Step by Step Counselling College and an Ecotherapist – specialising in walk and therapies - I have a strong belief in the power of (re)connecting with nature as part of the therapeutic process.  Before setting up Step by Step with Becky, I was a counselling tutor for six years and before that worked in a variety of environments including a prison, hospitals and a watermill.  My passion in teaching focuses on growth through personal development and cultural identity, and I am really excited to be able to bring these and many other creative elements together in the teaching.

Hi, my name is Becky and I am a partner and tutor here at Step by Step Counselling College. Simon and I developed this college to be a warm, supportive and rich space to learn in. I am an experienced counsellor and supervisor, with over a decades experience of working in private practice and I have always had a very special interest in working with student counsellors on their road through to qualifying. I have past experience in training and mentoring, so it is time to bring my skills together and my passion for helping to grow confidence and let people become the counsellor that they want to be. I can't wait to get to know you.

Hi, I'm Henri. I moved from a successful career in International Banking, People Management and Training and found a love of counselling. I was able to transfer my people skills and set up and managed a counselling service, emotional telephone support and issue focussed training for unpaid carers across Devon. My passion then turned to teaching and I have been working as a counselling tutor for the last 10 years. My current role will be coming to an end in 2022 and I have been privileged enough to be able to join this wonderful team and continue to help others fulfill their passion for counselling. Feedback that I regularly receive is that by being my truly unique & genuineself, I have given others the courage to do the same.

“To care of another individual means to know and to experience the other as fully as possible.”
