This two year accredited Level 4 Diploma not only offers the opportunity for a variety of tutor and peer-led learning, it also gives you the opportunity to practice your skills on a placement, building up 100 hours of practical experience, leading to a qualification that will enable you to work as a qualified counselling professional.

This course (SEG Awards ABC Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic

Counselling) will build upon the skills learnt during the

Advanced Certificate in Counselling & will be based on an

integrative approach weaving in Person Centred Therapy

(at the heart of the course), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

and Gestalt.  We will also give you the chance to explore a range

of other therapeutic approaches including Ecotherapy, Transactional

Analysis and Mindfulness.

Alongside theoretical learning, we will explore a range of other areas essential to embedding your practice in an ethical and legal foundation.  We will consider the role of culture in the counselling relationship, the importance of supervision and ongoing skills training, setting up a practice (including marketing, and finance) and research – all of which will be underpinned with a focus on self-awareness and self-development.

As well as the external placement, there will be the opportunity to develop your skills in house, deepening and broadening your experience through a structured programme that will remain supportive, whilst at the same time giving you the opportunity to find your way of working.
